A quantum computer is based on the laws of quantum mechanics and differs from the classical computer. Theoretically, this could lead to greatly increased computational power in some areas. So were up-to-date as to crack absolutely applicable mathematical encryption, quantum computers, for example, in the situation. No wonder, then, that not only numerous technology companies and scientists are working on the technology, but also the infamous US intelligence service NSA tried to develop such a computer. This emerges from documents of the Whistleblowers Edward Snowden. Researchers at the Australian University of South Wales have now successfully completed an important step on the way to a working quantum computer.
The concept largely purely theoretical nature is so far. It is now at least managed to build a so-called quantum gate Silicon Australian scientists. These are two quantum bits – so-called qubits – which have been integrated into an ordinary computer chip and communicating. So, it was to a kind of mini-quantum computer that could make first calculations. Fear for its encryption must have no one but for the time being – the calculations were rather simpler nature. The researchers involved have already announced to be able to scale the technology also. Next, therefore a chip with millions of interacting qubits is planned.
