There are a number of different diets and ultimately every man for himself must try out which works best. However, most approaches are to control the number of calories consumed. This sounds quite simple in theory, but once can in practice lead to problems. For the calorie content is of course not listed on fresh fruit or a single slice of cheese. Themselves weigh and calculate the calorie content, can be rather annoying in the long term. Easier to go in the future with a Smartphone gadget. With the help of laser beams and the built-in camera detects an app while the exact calorie and can also hold them.
Used is a technique that is used so similar even with 3D scanners on your Smartphone: it is thrown a grid of laser beams about the food. The camera analyzes then deformed as the network and can calculate, for example, the thickness of the object. In the lab, the scientists of the University of Washington reached an accuracy of between 87.5 and 91 percent – a significantly better value than when subjects are asked to estimate the own caloric intake with the NutriRay3D. On the Crowdfundingplattform Indiegogo, a campaign was also launched to bring the product to the final market maturity. This is however currently offline.
